COVID-19 Lockdown: one soundscape a day

Due to the COVID-19 epidemics, the biggest part of European population and most probably a good part of the world’s, has found itself locked down in its own houses. As a consequence, our cities, our villages, our neighbourhoods, have gone quieter.

I started recording a short soundscape every day around noon, since lockdown started in the town I live in, in Getxo, the Basque Country, Spain.

This is the sonic journal of COVID-19 lockdown accompanied by a picture of the square just in front of the window I am recording from, taken at the same time.

A note for fellow soundscapists: all recordings done with ZoomH4. Please bear it with me, due to unforeseen circumstances, I don’t have a windshield!
